Busted with copious amounts of dagga
A resident tried to make a run for it when he spotted police.
A Smokedown informal settlement resident was found to be in possession of more dagga than he could smoke.
The 30-year-old male was taken into police custody for being in possession of the green leafy drug substance weighing 0,258kg.
“The police were doing their routine patrols when the suspect spotted them and started running,” Tarlton Police spokesperson, Constable Lucky Matome, said.
As the suspect was running, he was also discarding small packets containing an unknown substance.
The members immediately gave chase and managed to catch-up with the suspect and apprehended him on the spot.
“The suspect was questioned about his unusual behaviour after which he then took the police to his house where more dagga was discovered.”
The estimated street value of the dagga is R1 500.
The suspect is expected to appear in court soon facing charges of possession.
