Due to the dedicated detectives from the Krugersdorp police station, two suspected murderers have been arrested and are behind bars.
The suspects aged 26 and 34 were arrested on 20 January for allegedly stabbing and killing a 28-year-old man.
“Following up on positive information received about the whereabouts of the suspects, the investigating officer along with the dedicated detectives gathered enough information and made two arrests. One suspect was arrested at the Correctional Service offices, where he reports to on a daily basis since being out on parole. The second suspect was arrested two hours later in Munsieville,” Krugersdorp Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, said.
The investigation follows after the body of a man was discovered in Sinqobile Street in Munsieville on 17 December.
It is alleged that the victim was hijacked of his VW Golf when the suspects stabbed him in the chest before fleeing.
The vehicle was found abandoned in the same street.
“With the help of the community, the suspects were arrested and will appear in court soon. Krugersdorp’s police management expressed their appreciation towards the members involved in the successful arrest of the suspects and towards the community for assisting the police with information that led to the arrest of the suspects,” Mashale concluded.
