Game lodge TV burglar caught

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a local business robbery.

A suspect, connected to a local game lodge burglary, has recently been arrested.

“On Tuesday 2 February, Detective Sergeant Simali arrested a 37-year-old suspect for being in possession of a television at the Ga Mogale informal settlement,” police spokesperson, Constable Rebecca Phithi, said in a press statement.

The suspect is said to be linked with the Askari [Game Lodge] burglary in Hekpoort. The detectives were given a tip off by one of the community members “who will stay anonymous”.

The television recovered is said to be worth R7 000.

The Magaliesburg Station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Joyce Julla, said she is happy that residents come forward with information that ultimately help police fight crime in the area.
