Kagiso resident wins R100k bursary

By winning this bursary, Frank has chosen to study a three-year diploma in human resources at Boston City Campus, starting later this year.

A delighted Frank Siweyo was announced as the R100 000 Wingz of Change bursary winner on Hot 91.9FM last week.

The 25-year-old from Kagiso was accompanied by his mother, Anna when Natalie Rabson from Boston City Campus made the announcement.

In 2015 his mentor, Sue Felton from Africa Food for Thought, identified Frank as having huge potential and helped him apply for tertiary education. Frank was accepted to study a diploma in HR at the University of Johannesburg but could not secure funding.

“Although Pink Floyd’s epic song Another brick in the wall claimed ‘We don’t need no education’, we at Hot 91.9 FM believe that quality education is one of the key building blocks of a successful society. Our community-focused Wingz of Change engine leads the way once again with yet another ground-breaking initiative, in conjunction with Boston City Campus,” a press statement reads.
