The Magaliesburg police station has once again proven they are an award winning team when they received the best detection rate award recently.
From the seven stations that make up the Krugersdorp Cluster, the Magaliesburg station was rewarded the best with 29 certificates for a job well done.
“In November and December the station was seen as the one with the best detection rate, where crime is detected and dealt with,” police spokesperson, Constable Rebecca Phithi, said.
“With property related cases, cases prepared to court, trial ready cases and the detection and reduction on women and children abuse cases, the station came out first,” she said.
The station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Joyce Julla, said the detection rate shows the productivity of the station as a whole.
Of the 59 police officers at the station, Phithi said all work together as a team and help fight the fight against crime. She said the police officers often work very long and tedious hours in order to secure a case.
The branch commander, Lieutenant Petros Motau, said he will continue to work hard with the team and ensure they receive these accolades again.
The Magaliesburg station was previously commended on a provincial level for the best performing station.
