A hijacking victim led police to a nearby plot where they discovered his goods which were being loaded onto another truck.
The sector police were patrolling along Malibongwe Drive in Nooitgedacht when they were stopped by a victim on the side of the road.
“The victim alleges that he was hijacked in Vosloorus and the suspects dropped him on the side of the road in the Muldersdrift area,” Muldersdrift Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer, Hitler Ngwenya, said.
The victim informed police that he was hijacked and that he knew the whereabouts of his truck.
Along with police, the victim took them to a plot in Nooitgedacht where they discovered another truck parked next to the victim’s truck.
A group of men was busy offloading goods from the victim’s truck into their truck, but quickly fled when they noticed the police.
One suspect was not as lucky as police managed to catch the 32-year-old suspect.
The suspect was arrested for the possession of suspected stolen goods and was charged and briefly appeared in court.
Muldersdrift Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel KD Seabi applauded Constable Thlale and Constable Ndlelaco for their swift reaction in this arrest. He further indicated that no stone will be left unturned in the Muldersdrift area.
