Lighting their dark nights

The Monument Rotary Club took hands with a local business to bless three schools with donations.

Three local high schools in Krugersdorp were selected to receive a donation of solar lights.

The Monument Rotary Club took hands with the Ben Morgenrood Mahindra Randfontein team to reach out to needy pupils within the Krugersdorp community.

The schools benefiting from this project included Nic Diederichs Technical High School, Pro-Practicum School and Monument High.

The Rotary Club noted that it is important for them to get involved with the local schools and to support the community.

Pencil cases and a book were included in the solar-light donations, which were handed over to representatives of the three schools.

The aim of the handover was to help pupils study at night during load shedding, while the pencil case and book serve to motivate the pupils to study harder.

“Every bit helps. Thank you so much from all the schools. We accept this gift with great appreciation and we are sure that it will make a huge difference,” Johan Calitz, Monument principal said.
