Gang of alleged rapists wanted

Suspects ordered the complainant to undress herself before allegedly raping her.

Kagiso police need the assistance of the community to locate a gang of six rape suspects.

Six men allegedly attacked and gang raped a woman next to the Thulamntwana section in Tshepisong.

The complainant alleged that she was coming from a local shop when she noticed six unknown suspects following her as she was walking along an open field in Thulamntwana.

Suddenly one of the suspects grabbed her from behind and demanded a cell phone and cash.

The other five suspects also took her groceries and further dragged her into bushes.

“The suspects then ordered the complainant to undress herself and when she refused the suspects assaulted and started to tear her clothes off. They pushed the complainant down and took turns raping her and one of the suspects stabbed her in the knee and hand,” Kagiso Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, explained.

She the crawled by other pedestrians in the field and cried for help.

Kagiso police would like to advise people not to walk alone on open spaces, even during the day.

“Complaints that we receive show that perpetrators are capable of attacking at any given time as long as they see an opportunity. Always avoid walking along isolated places with tall grass and open spaces, rather walk next to the road where you can be visible,” Solomon advises.

Kagiso police are appealing to members of the public to assist them with any information that can lead to the successful arrest of the six suspects. If you have information, contact the Kagiso detectives on 011 696 9128/9104.
