Four would-be perps arrested
CPF patrollers chased after a vehicle with suspicious looking occupants and managed to caught up with them.
Quick response from members of the Sector 9 Community Policing Forum (CPF) stopped four suspects in their tracks.
On 28 March around 7.30am, patrollers were called out to a local business in Mindalore after a blue Chevi Spark with four suspiciously looking occupants was spotted around the parking area.
The call-out followed after the owner of the shop had reason to believe the occupants were attempting to rob his shop.
On arrival at the shop, members learned that the suspects had already left and decided to consult with the employees at the service station on the corner who had CCTV’s monitoring the area.
There they learned the occupants purchased items at the garage’s shop and spent quiet some time in the parking area.
Patrollers then send out a bolo (be on the lookout) alert to other members and started searching the perimeter.
Not long after the patrollers met up with the suspicious occupants who immediately fled the scene.
CPF then gave chase and finally pulled over the vehicle in Main Reef Road, which was heading towards the Chamdor Road intersection.
The occupants were placed under citizen’s arrest after a firearm was found on one of the seats of the vehicle and was handed over to the authorities who arrived shortly there after.
“The teamwork by the CPF members, patrollers and police led to the successful arrest of the suspicious occupants. Thank you to everyone who played a part,” Attie Els, CPF 9’s Public Relations Officer said.
