Lions spoil elderly with song and dance

The Krugersdorp Lions Club spared no expense when they treated the residents of Moria Old Age Home to a day of fun-filled entertainment.

The Krugersdorp Lions Club spared no expense when they treated the residents of Moria Old Age Home to a day of fun-filled entertainment.

“For the last few years this concert has been an annual event for the old age homes in the surrounding area of Krugersdorp. Our goal for this event was to give back to our golden oldies so that they may enjoy a day that is special and full of fun,” Krugersdorp Lions Club president, Michie Randall said.

A list of musicians had the residents joyfully dancing along on Saturday (23 April) and after a hearty meal, each grandma and grandpa took a gift pack home.

Michie told the News that this annual project is one of her favourite Lions projects.

The Krugersdorp Lions Club is part of Lions International, which is a non-government service organisation, that aid with food collections, eyesight and hearing testing, clothes collection and diabetes and tuberculosis awareness.

“We also provide dance classes to the West Rand Association for the Physically Disabled,” she said.

The Lions Club rely heavily on the public for support and if you would like to help or find out more, contact Michie on 084 806 4555.
