Woman freed from dangling car
She sustained critical injuries and was taken to hospital after she was eventually freed.
Two people were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in hit a barrier and overturned on the R28.
At the scene, on the Krugersdorp ridge, paramedics, West Rand Emergency Services firefighters and towing services tried to rescue the woman that was still trapped in the dangling car.
“They tried to keep the vehicle from rolling down the mountain,” Netcare 911 Media Liaison Officer, Athlenda Mathe, told the News.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

The passenger, a woman, was found at around 6pm last night and was eventually rescued a few hours later and found to be critically injured and was also transported to a nearby hospital.
Reports from the scene indicated that the vehicle possibly hit a barrier and overturned.
The R28 is notorious for fatal accidents that have claimed numerous lives over the years.
