Update: hijacking suspect wore security uniform
Police confirmed the hijacking and states it was an attempted murder in Burgershoop this morning.
Police have confirmed this morning’s hijacking and attempted murder in Potchefstroom Street and that the man was indeed shot with a shotgun.

Police believe that an argument ensued between the 49-year-old victim, before he was shot in his hand and hip.
“Two unknown men attacked him, threatened him with a shotgun and demanded his vehicle,” police spokesperson, Constable Lucky Matome said.
It is believed that one of the suspects wore a security officer’s uniform.
“The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s brand new white VW Golf 7 with no registration number plates,” he said.
No arrests have yet been made.
