Late night fire burns church to the ground

Police suspects no criminal activity being the cause of the fire.

A church in Munsieville burned to the ground last night at around 10pm.

Krugersdorpers flocked to Facebook with concern over the sirens and helicopter noises that filled the night.

Athlenda Mathe, Netcare 911 Media Liaison Officer, said there were no injuries reported.

Paramedics, the West Rand Emergency Services and the Watchtower’s fire officials were at the scene to try and extinguish the blaze.

Police spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, said that police are still awaiting more information about the case but that it seems that no criminal activity is suspected.
