[PICS] Old Oak Hospice once again open
"Old Oak Hospice Diverse is here to make a difference in people’s lives and we hope we can assist."
The “new” Old Oak Hospice Diverse is officially registered, and the new management team has started working its magic.
The hospice provides support to anyone diagnosed with cancer, HIV and Aids, and motor neuron disease. In addition to this, they also cater for the following needs: home-based care, weekend support groups, bereavement counselling and complimentary therapies.
“Old Oak Hospice Diverse is thankful for the many donations received,” said the new founder, Ina Meiring.
She has received donations from Mazars (furniture), Rainbow Cement (Toni – transport), Netcare 911 (eight beds for the in-patient unit), Helena (three sets of linen for each bed), Daan (kitchen and office cupboards) and Plascon (paint).
“For all the others who also donated, you made it possible for us to start the Hospice. And those that have gifted and whom I have not mentioned on the long list, thank you!”
The grand opening for the in-patient unit will take place in September, but they are still in need of a laptop or desktop, printers, ink and paper. They are also in need of cutlery for the kitchen.
If you would like to get involved or find out more, contact Ina on 078 969 7400.
