Six injured during Krugersdorp CBD protest

Six people were injured and taken to the hospital after rubber bullets were used to disperse protesters in the Krugersdorp CBD.

Six people were injured during the protest in the Krugersdorp CBD on May 27 after police fired rubber bullets to disperse the crowd.

According to the Sterkfontein Emergency Medical Services’ station commander, Andre Raijmakers, four people sustained minor injuries, while two were moderately injured on the scene.

He alleged the injuries were caused by rubber bullets, with patients being transported to the hospital shortly after noon.

Protesters have since moved towards the Wentworth Park area.
