Missing epilepsy sufferer found
The Padi family would like to thank the community for helping them find their loved one.
Nyenyane Joseph Padi, 70, has been found at Leratong Hospital on Monday, 22 August.
This comes after the epilepsy sufferer went missing on Wednesday, 10 August when he left his home on Mabalane Street in Munsieville and was not seen again. Some community members said they had seen him on Robert Broom Drive.
On Friday, 12 August his niece, Maabo Thage opened a missing persons case at the local police station and soon after that, she appealed to the News to help her family find their beloved Joseph.
“He is not the kind of person who wanders around aimlessly. I have looked for him at local hospitals, to no avail,” Maabo told the News.
After reading the article on the News’ website, a concerned community member called Maabo and told her that her uncle was a patient at Leratong.
“It turns out that paramedics found him and took him to hospital, but he was not admitted under his birth name,” Maabo told the News.
She said the family is happy, grateful and relieved to have found their loved one.
“He hasn’t been discharged yet, but during a family meeting we decided that one of my cousins will be moving in with him to keep a closer eye on him,” a content Maabo said.
