Hope given to charities

The Hangers for Hope official handover took place on Saturday to mark the end of the successful campaign.

Cradlestone’s Hangers for Hope clothing drive came to an end on Saturday 27 August, and it was a huge success.

Their original target was to fill a 67-metre long clothing line with clothing, but thanks to generous donations from the community they received almost double the amount of donations they had hoped for.

These five charities were nominated as beneficiaries of the drive:

• Krugersdorp Child Welfare

• Cradle of Hope

• Bethany House

• Baby Moses

• Polokego Shelter

Representatives from each charity were present for the handover in the Mugg & Bean Court, with radio personality David Watts from MixFM emceeing the event.

Lanie de Klerk from Baby Moses said Hangers for Hope is not just about bringing hope to the children, but also to those managing the facilities. These donations contribute to their sustainability and take a great deal of pressure off their shoulders.

Shortly after the official handover, a representative from Pick n Pay Clothing Cradlestone made one last donation to the charity of their choice: Cradle of Hope.

The clothing drive may be over, but you can still do your part for the community by getting involved in any of the charities that operate in the Krugersdorp area.
