Water crisis in Mogale
Residents are urged to use water for consumption only since Mogale City is in crisis mode.
A statement released by councillor Jaqueline Pannall, the MMC of Corporate Governance reads “we have a serious crisis”.
Pannall further said in her statement that Mogale City has 50 per cent less water compared to Saturday and residents are urged to use water for human consumption only.
“Some high-lying areas have been without water for three days already. Kagiso has various areas with no water at all since Saturday.”
She urged residents to use a bucket to do essential washing.
“Don’t use washing machines or dishwashers. Forget about gardening, [filling] pools and so forth. If we can cut down to basic usage we will be able to get a ration of water from Rand Water on Monday morning.”
The News has requested an update from Pannall about the current water crisis, and as soon as information is received, readers will be notified.
