Sort out your traffic fines

At an annual campaign, motorists will be able to reduce, pay or cancel their traffic fines.

What if you could negotiate your outstanding traffic fines down without the fear of being arrested?

The Mogale City Traffic Department is giving motorists the chance to do exactly that in Azaadville, at their annual traffic fines campaign on Saturday, 26 November.

The campaign is aimed at creating a safe driving experience for motorists during the festive season. Motorists are invited to check and finalise their outstanding traffic fines and warrants of arrests that have been issued by the traffic department.

“As the festive season approaches, we want to make things easier so that motorists with outstanding traffic fines don’t have to access courts and other government institutions that often close during this period.

This event takes place once a year and motorists will have a chance to reduce, negotiate or cancel their fines,” said Papi Motaung, spokesperson for the traffic department.

According to Papi, the prosecutor that will be on site to oversee the process will also be responsible for possible reductions of traffic fines and no traffic fine-related arrests will be made on that day.

The campaign will take place in Taj Mahal Street, opposite the Engen Service Station in Azaadville from 10am to 4pm.
