Huge storm leaves street powerless
The storm bent the electricity pole 'like a twig'.
Residents of Marinus Road in Monument were left without electricity on the night of 30 November, after a massive storm had hit the area and bent an electricity pole in the middle.

Strong gusts of winds caused the pole to allegedly “bend like a twig” and fall over, taking two other poles with it.
Sector 4 Community Policing Forum (CPF) patrollers notified Mogale City Local Municipality about the incident. Technicians and electricians from the municipality’s infrastructure department arrived the next morning at about 7.30am to remove the damaged power lines and poles, and replace them.

The power was allegedly restored to the area in the late afternoon.
