Pupils rewarded for good behaviour

"Some of these kids have really changed their behaviour and we award those as well."

The best of the best of Boys and Girls Town Magaliesburg were rewarded for their good performances throughout the 2016 academic year on Wednesday, 23 November at a prestigious event held at Mount Grace in Magaliesburg.

Boys and girls from as young as eight years old received certificates and Cadbury Glow gifts as their grades reflected their cooperation and growth.

Teachers and pupils enjoyed the event together.

The boys were neatly dressed in tuxedos and suits of white, black and even blue and the girls dressed to impress with their favorite heels and dresses. Some had their shades on and others complimented their outfits with up-to-date hairstyles.

Pupils as young as eight also had their best suits on to prove they are gentlemen in their own manner.

“Some of these kids have really changed their behaviour and we award those as well,” said Margaret Balazi, the Division Head for Training and Education.

The awards were divided into multiple categories, such as best improved behaviour, highest score in maths, best at languages, top three academic masters of the school, and so on.

“The event did not only recognise the progress of the children throughout their school year, but also motivated them to continue working hard on their futures.”

More than 25 pupils of the school received awards and teachers of the school pranced with pride as their patience and hard work paid off.

The prestigious academic awards were reason enough for the boys to dress up as well as they possibly could.

“We are so humbled to see the pupils grow and improve with the help of our teachers and it is surely something worth celebrating,” said Margaret.
