Fundraiser and memorial service for the late JC van Loggerenberg
Family members will hold a memorial service on Monday for the boy who died after falling off a train two days ago.
Krugersdorpers have expressed their utter sadness about the loss of a 13-year-old boy who died on Wednesday, 7 December after falling out of a moving railway carriage.
The boy was identified as JC van Loggerenberg, a learner from Roodepark Primary School. It was said he was on his way to fetch his school report when he fell from the train.
Numerous Facebook users have shown their support to the family and loved ones of the boy by sending their condolences and wishing them strength during the difficult time that lies ahead. Charmaine Schwarz Booysen, a Facebook user, described JC as a stunning child and Annette Street, sent prayers and heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Other users say they are mourning with the family for the loss of such a precious child.
As JC’s grandfather, Koos Joubert, is a member of a motorcycle club, JC’s memorial service will be held at the West Rand Bikers Church in Dan Pienaarville on Monday, 12 December. The service starts at 10am.
A fundraiser will be hosted tomorrow, 10 December at Salvage B&G, next to Pieman’s Pantry in Mindalore, to assist in covering the funeral costs and to help his parents, who still have the holiday season ahead of them.
