Don’t become a statistic – stay safe

With the festive season in full swing, many are making long lists of places to visit and things to do, and will be out exploring and making memories to last a lifetime.

It is therefore important to be mindful of your safety and security, and ensure that your family knows your whereabouts at all times.

The Director of the security app Ttrumpet, Charles Murray gives Krugersdorpers a few great tips to help them navigate this time easier and safer :

* Only use location services when necessary or an app like Ttrumpet which is completely private, and do not share your location with strangers.

*Alert others on the security channel in your area if you see any suspicious activity or random cars parked on the side of the road. A simple alert could save someone.

* Don’t share your private pictures with strangers as they always end up on the internet.

* Consider the consequences of social media posts both from a reputation and security perspective.

Staying safe is going to be a priority for all during the fast approaching festive season. With all the decorations, shopping, parties and fun accompanying the holiday season it is important to be safe while also having fun.
