Some people say the best time of your life is when you are in high school. The Grade 8s at St Ursula’s School had the time of their lives during the past week as they performed their first stage show for their fellow learners, teachers and parents.

The theme of the show was ‘Superheroes’, and the 34 learners were transformed from zeros to heroes at their school.
The show started with a pack of popcorn and some great music. The story had some playing villains and some playing heroes. The villains decided to team up and capture President Donald Trump. Supergirl was the only one able to rescue him, but at that time she was still undercover and her mother did not know about her secret. Supergirl then struggles to keep up with her two lives and decides she has to tell her mother about her secret in order for her to save the President. As Supergirl saves the world, her grandmother decides to also tell her story. She was a superhero too, when she was Supergirl’s age. After everyone was saved, all the heroes decided to be friends.

“We are so proud of our incredible teachers and our new Grade 8s,” said Principal Tony Botha.

The school also feels that they are able to transform the children and let them be the greatest they can be. Their journey at high school officially started after the show, as each child was given a blazer to officially welcome them to the school.

Botha concluded the evening by telling the children that the journey will sometimes be difficult, but the ride will be worth it in the end.
