New car for Meat World winner

This competition was launched on 1 April when Valley View’s Meat World opened.

Twelve lucky Meat World shoppers across South Africa drove home with brand-new Suzuki Swifts of their very own after winning Meat World’s popular annual competition.

On Saturday, 5 August, over 100 people gathered at Valley View Retail Centre to find out who Meat World’s first ever local Win-a-Car competition’s winner would be, and it was none other than Anton Greyling.

This competition was launched on 1 April when Valley View’s Meat World opened. To qualify, Meat World shoppers had to spend R100 or more and throw their till-slips, with their details, into a draw box.

During the day of the lucky draw, a nerve-wracking filtering process was hosted by Pieter Koen, a well-known Afrikaans singer and TV personality. The box containing all the entries was shuffled, reshuffled and shuffled again as he drew a total of ten slips. If the person whose name was drawn was absent, he/she immediately forfeited the opportunity to claim the prize.

After the 10 finalists were chosen, each of them had the opportunity to pick one of ten small boxes. Nine of these boxes contained a key-chain – but the tenth one contained the key to the Suzuki Swift.

And needless to say, it was Anton Greyling, the first finalist drawn, and the first to choose one of the ten boxes.

“I am completely overwhelmed. It’s my birthday this week and my mother actually told me that she is positive that this car is going to be my birthday present. I am unbelievably grateful,” Anton said.

The other nine finalists each received a hamper from Meat World.
