Local residents informed of dangerous disease
On Friday 1 December both the hospital hall and the local school saw teams of dedicated experts sharing their knowledge on this subject.
Every year, World Aids Day is commemorated all over the world by various institutions and health facilities in an effort to raise awareness and inform the public of prevention and control measures against this dangerous disease.

This year, the Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital was no exception when they raised awareness among hundreds of residents, including the learners of Munsieville Primary School.
On Friday, 1 December, both the hospital hall and the local school saw teams of dedicated experts sharing their knowledge on this subject. Munsieville residents were also made aware of Aids Day when they witnessed the school march up a local road with various HIV/Aids banners.

The hospital’s aim for the day’s proceedings was to offer support and strengthen the health system by informing the residents about preventing the spread of the virus. They also focused on the necessary care and treatment for HIV/ Aids patients through testing and counselling, among other things.
