[UPDATE] Water supply still stable as work on the raw water pipeline nears its conclusion

The project is on target to complete the necessary welding work within the 54-hour schedule.

The regular updates from Rand Water on the work being done to the connection of their B11 and B19 pipelines continued on the morning of Wednesday, 26 June.

This marks the third day that the company has been working on the pipeline, and still there have been no water restrictions or shutdowns to households and businesses.

Rand Water’s Media Relations Manager, Justice Mohale, reported that work continued throughout the night and a new shift of technicians took over on Wednesday morning to finalise the welding portion of the project.

“At this time, the project is on target to complete the necessary welding work within the 54-hour schedule. Thereafter, the normal processes of commissioning the line will commence,” Mohale noted.

He added that the reservoir levels are still stable and meeting the public’s demands.
