#CaxtonCares — All you need to know about this Saturday’s Animal Wellness Day

With animal neglect and abuse rife in various communities, the horse and hound (dog) wellness day could not have come at a better time.

The highly anticipated Horse and Hound Wellness Day will make sure you and your family leave feeling doggone good that you attended!

This Saturday, 29 June at the AFM Church in Noordheuwel should have already been marked on your calendar as the day you visit Oppistal’s Wellness Day, which will be a fun-filled educational day the West Rand desperately needs. All animals lovers should attend … and its free!

With animal neglect and abuse rife in various communities, the horse and hound (dog) wellness day could not have come at a better time.

Pastor Gerrit Mes from the AFM Church is an avid animal lover and pledged his support for the Horse and Hound Wellness Day.

This Wellness Day is the brainchild of Yolanda Steyn of Oppistal, a fully fledged equine recreational and rehab centre in Sterkfontein. Yolanda, together with Vicki Sokolich, wrote and published a book, Introduction to horse ownership in South Africa, and decided to launch it at Oppistal’s second Wellness Day.

The 9th Day Animal Shelter, Friends of Rescued Animals (Fora) and Highveld Horse Care Unit will receive much-needed funds, acquired by the selling of raffle tickets as well as funds raised from the selling of stall space.

Raffle tickets for an incredible prize will be sold at R50 a tickets. Also during Yolanda and Vicki’s book launch, a question and answer session with a fun quiz for the audience will secure each correct answer a R100 Mugg and Bean voucher.

There will be loads of stalls selling animal-related goodies with delicious food stalls to keep you going. This is one animal wellness day you cannot miss!
