Church jumble sale
29 JUNE — The Noordheuwel Methodist Church will be holding a jumble sale from 7am where various second hand clothes, kitchenware, bedding, books and general knickknacks will be on sale. There will be no entrance fee on teh day, and after making your purchases you can get a free cup of coffee or tea with either a sandwich or muffin.For more information, contact Els at 082 817 4297.
Bridal Expo
29 & 30 JUNE — The annual Bridal Expo is coming to the Oakfield Farm Wedding Venue. Come see the latest in wedding fashion, decorations and invitations, and meet the best designers, planners and caterers in the business.There will be over 150 exhibitors and a free fashion show at 3pm. Prizes will be handed out during the day, and one lucky couple can win a honeymoon with a two night stay at Fairway Hotel Spa and a one night midweek stay at Askari Lodge and Spa.Gates will be open from 10am to 5pm. Tickets available at the gate or on Computicket. R100 per adult and R50 for children from four to 12.
Elvis and Friends
28 & 30 JUNE — Elvis Presley is coming to the Silverstar Barnyard Theatre for two exclusive shows on 28 at 8pm and 30 June at 2pm. Tickets are R165 and R130 respectively.With his incredible vocal range and resemblance, Shaky Russell and a 10 piece cast will perform more than 30 of Elvis’ greatest hits. You can also expect a few surprises from other music legends including Tina Turner, Buddy Holly, Sha Na Na, Neil Diamond and more.Put on your Blue Suede Shoes, get ready to Shake, Rattle and Roll ‘cause this show promises to rock both young and old in true Vegas spirit.
Horse and Hound Wellness Day
29 JUNE — Join Oppistal and the News for an animal wellness day to rival any other. From 10am at the AFM Church on Lud Hersch Drive, Noordheuwel, dog and horse lovers will find an array of speakers, including a veterinarian who will answer your pet health questions, animal goodie stalls, great food stalls, equine complementary care therapy, demonstrations such such as dentistry, physiotherapy and acupuncture, as well as a herbs and natural remedies demonstration for you horse or dog. Three worthy animal shelters will benefit from this day. Raffle tickets for a fabulous prize will be on sale for R50, in aid of the shelters.
