Road closure in Krugersdorp North while taxi rank is upgraded

Third Street will be closed between 4 and 20 July while construction on the revamped taxi rank continues.

The Mogale City Local Municipality would like to inform the public and motorists of a road closure that will begin today, 4 July and remain in force until 20 July.

Third Street in Krugersdorp North will be closed between the revamped old taxi rank and Paardekraal Primary School for 17 days, due to construction of the Krugersdorp taxi rank and other related infrastructure work.

The closure will allow for the installation of a stormwater pipeline as well as the resurfacing of the road, both part of the major taxi revamp project.

This project forms part of the municipality’s inner city regeneration plan, which among other things includes the development and upgrading of existing public transport facilities, while working to expand public transport opportunities.

The road closure will also affect access to the corner of Eloff and Kruger Streets and access from Pretoria Street. Barricades will be set up from the corner of Pretoria Street.
