Melville Koppies Nature Reserve Hike
14 JULY — Join a three-hour cross-koppie hike through the Melville Koppies Nature Reserve, starting at 8.30am. You can park in the upper car park at Marks Parks on Judith Road, Emmarentia, opposite the entrance to the Koppies. Brunch with U3A
17 JULY — The members of the University of the 3rd Age West Rand are going to brunch at Rock Cod Restaurant on Hole-in-One Road, Ruimsig. It is opposite the Ruimsig Country Club. Booking for the brunch can be made at the meeting or by WhatsApp to Marthie on 083 297 9565. Attendees will order individually and pay individually. The menu is available at the meeting.
Celebrate History
20 JULY —The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host an event to celebrate their history, at 62 Paul Kruger Street, Monument. Entrance is free to the public. Come find out about your family history, the history of their Chapel. Children will enjoy discovering an ‘archaeological find’ hidden somewhere in their garden, plus mini-wagon rides from 10am to 2pm. Also tour the free improvement programmes on offer – from Bible study, to international university modules. The public is also invited to share the history of any of Krugersdorp’s historic buildings to become part of their historic Google tour of the town’s heritage. 20 JULIE — Laerskool Muldersdrif hou karnaval om hul 110de verjaardag te vier. Dit gaan ‘n groot pretdag met talle stalletjies, lekker kos en ‘n neon-pretdraf wees. Die karnaval skop om 9vm af en die vermaak vir die dag sluit in die Afrikaanse popgroep Mwah, en sangers Greunen Parker, Linda Killian en Michael Tushki. Entries Open
Entries for the Miss and Mr CANSA 2019 pageant are now open. This prestigious event will take place on 3 August at Silverstar and costs R300 per person. If you enter on the day, you will pay R350. There are eight categories to enter, ranging from three years to 19 years and older. Spectators are also welcome on the day at an entry fee of R40 for adults and R20 for children. Winners of this pageant will assist CANSA with their regional and national projects.
