Miracle ‘girls’ live to see another day
After receiving a call about a suspicious bag, a Sector 7 CPF patroller made a shocking discovery.
A post on the Sector 7 Community Policing Forum’s (CPF) Facebook page tells the story of how someone tried to drown and dump a litter of puppies.
It said the Sector 7 CPF patrollers were called out because a suspicious bag had been left on the corner of Lud Hersch Street and Shannon Road in Noordheuwel.

“The witness contacted us in fear, after witnessing an elderly gentleman and young lady dumping a bag. He contacted Sector 7 as he heard sounds emanating from the bag,” said the post.
When patroller Mark Trump arrived on scene, he found a double plastic bag filled with water and when he untied and opened the bag, he found five new- born puppies drenched in water.
Luckily, with the help of the security company Dowry’s K9 unit leader, he could revive three of the puppies. The other two did not make it.
After being rescued the puppies were taken to a nearby animal clinic, where they received love and attention and were placed in an incubator.
A case has been opened with the SPCA because the witness was vigilant enough to take down the registration number of the vehicle in which the elderly man and young woman had travelled.
The puppies, dubbed the miracle girls, were taken to a shelter to be looked after until they are ready to be adopted.
