Just two days before the launch of the international 16 Days of No Violence against Women and Children campaign, as well as a number of campaigns by both civil rights organisations and the government, with women’s and men’s groups condemning all kinds of violence directed at women and children, another woman died a tragic death in front of her sister.
A 56-year-old suspect from Tshepisong West (Ebumnandini) handed himself over to police after he allegedly killed a woman on Saturday, 23 November. According to witnesses, the woman, her sister and a neighbour were inside a minibus taxi parked next to a gate when the man arrived. He walked to the woman, drew a firearm and started shooting randomly at her.
