The Hekpoort police recently arrested three men for breaking into a house, being in possession of stolen property and of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The three men, aged between 18 and 19, were arrested on 28 November at about 5pm when Oostermoed Security officers and Hekpoort police responded to a call of a house breaking in progress at Doornkloof in Hekpoort.
According to a statement by Constable Gloria Maswanganye from the Hekpoort police’s corporate communication department, when the officers arrived at the scene they found that the suspects had already fled the scene.
The victim told them that it had been three suspects and that one of them was armed.

“They followed up information that led to the arrest of all three suspects,” the statement read.
The third man showed the police and security where some of the items, stolen from another house earlier in the week, were hidden.
One of the other suspects also led police to a piece of open veld where police recovered a 9mm pistol and one magazine with six rounds.
They also recovered a damaged safe, cell phone, firearm, firearm cleaning kit and other stolen items from a third location.
All three the suspects will be appearing in the local court on charges of house breaking, possession of stolen property and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
“Acting Station Commander of the Hekpoort police Warrant Officer Botties Botma, welcomed the arrest, he applauded the police members, Oostermoed Security and the local community for their swift response and for their commitment and dedication in fighting crime,” the statement read.
