Hekpoort Police proud of their November successes

It was a great month with a lot of arrests and criminals facing consequences.

Hekpoort Police secured a total of 50 arrests for the month of November.

The arrests were made through different operations and investigations conducted throughout the month.

One of the intelligence-driven operations resulted in the arrest of seven suspects for illegally processing and packaging abalone at one of the farms in Hekpoort, situated on the R24 road.

Several unlicensed firearms were confiscated and removed from the hands of criminals. Counterfeit goods were seized at different spaza shops during another integrated operation conducted around Hekpoort.

Other crimes that landed the suspects behind bars are business robberies, housebreakings and theft, assault, possession of stolen property, driving under the influence of liquor, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, intimidation and undocumented foreign nationals.

Acting Hekpoort Police station commander, Warrant Officer Botties Botma was pleased with the arrests and thanked the members, external stakeholders, local security companies and the community for their efforts in the execution of these arrest.

He also warned community members against buying or selling counterfeit goods as their presence in the market poses a massive health risk to them. He also wished everyone a safe festive season and a happy new year.
