Water shutdown in parts of Krugersdorp, Muldersdrift

A burst pipe near Robert Broom Drive is causing large water losses and will be shut down for repairs.

The Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has issued a warning regarding a probable water shutdown on Thursday, 26 November as water pipe repairs get under way.

“The MCLM hereby informs members of the public of an imminent emergency water shutdown due to a huge burst pipe on Robert Broom Drive in Rangeview,” as per a communique from the MCLM Communication Department’s Adrian Amod.

Our water technicians and repair team are on site attending to the problem. Due to the amount of water lost and urgent need to replace the damaged pipe, water supply has to be shut down.”

 

Areas which may be affected include Rangeview, Featherbrooke Estate, Ruimsig Country Estate, Panorama and parts of Muldersdrift. The operation is estimated to take about 10 hours and commenced at 11am.

“Where there’s a need for water tankers during the shutdown, ward councillors are advised to contact the Manager of Water and Sanitation, Duncan Mkhonto on 083 787 5642 and indicate the exact locations where the tankers should be stationed.

The municipality apologises for any inconvenience this emergency shutdown will cause for businesses and residents in the affected areas,” Amod concluded.
