What’s up with the Hope you have an Angel boards?

Mysterious blue and orange sign boards in Krugersdorp have had the community scratching their heads.

Signboards in Krugersdorp had residents scratching their heads over the weekend. It seemed they were placed strategically where traffic volumes were high, and at intersections.

The message on the boards was, ‘Hope you have an angel!’. No number, no web address – not even the tiniest hint as to what it was about. Irrespective of whether it is a new campaign or a marketing strategy, it is an absolutely brilliant idea, because it got people talking.

Just as mysteriously as the blue and orange sign boards appeared on Friday, 5 March, they disappeared again on Monday, 8 March.

The community was perplexed and everyone wanted answers. Luckily it seems that the very curious residents will not have to wait long to find out what this is all about. A little bit of digging led to the Hope You Have An Angel Facebook page, which was opened on 26 February this year.

There is a web address in the ‘About’ section on the page. When the News visited the website on Monday, it only showed a clock ticking down the days, hours and minutes until 17 March.

When the News returned to the site on Tuesday, there was a space where you could fill in your name and email address to be kept in the loop.

For now, that is all we know as unfortunately, we have no inkling of what will be happening on 17 March.
