Got a municipal issue? You can now WhatsApp it

Mogale City Local Municipality has added WhatsApp as a method of contacting them.

You can now report your municipal issues on the Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) WhatsApp number.

MCLM said in a statement they want to continue their efforts to improve customer engagement and service delivery, adding, “We are excited to announce that we have added WhatsApp to our reporting channels”.

This is an additional way of reporting your service requests and complaints and is more convenient, as with the new WhatsApp number they can also ensure residents are assisted in a timely manner.

The WhatsApp number can be used to report water, sewer, electricity or any other service issues on weekdays between Monday and Friday from 7.30am to 8pm.

What you should include in your message:
• Your name
• Full street address, including suburb name and property number
• Contact details if your number is different from the number you are sending a message from

You can also include a photo (if necessary), meter number and location pin.

Similar to when you report these issues over the phone, your WhatsApp complaint or service request will be logged into the complaints management system and you will be issued with a reference number via SMS. This reference number can then be used to follow up on an unresolved complaint or request.

The WhatsApp number is 083 787 2814; alternatively use the call centre number on 0861 664 253 or send an email to customerservices@mogalecity.gov.za.
