Happy liver-versary, little Gabby
Two years ago little Gabby was given 12 hours to get a new liver to be able to survive. To celebrate her being healthy there will be a charity concert and fun day, and you are invited.
Two years ago, at the very tender age of only 11 months, little Gabby Robertson was fighting for her life.
Gabby has a condition called biliary atresia and was given 12 hours to get a new liver to be able to survive. Her saving grace came in the form of her older sister Samantha Jonker who donated a piece of her liver to her baby sister.
On 15 April Gabby will be celebrating her second ‘liver-versary’ and her family will be doing it in style.
The celebrations will be held on Saturday, 17 April, at the corner of the R24 (Rustenburg Road) and Cecilia Street in Tarlton, at the Trucks 4 U premises from 9am.

The community is invited to join in the celebrations where six artists will be performing. There will be jumping castles, face-painting and food stalls.
Entrance will be in the form on non-perishable food and clothing items, and these will be donated to the Jollige Jakkers of the Radai Centre, and the Heart n Soul Community Centre.
Her father, Darrel Roberts said they wanted to give back to the community and raise awareness for her ‘other birthday’; especially because they have been so blessed in the past two years.
He said Gabby is ‘constantly’ healthy. She needs to take medication for the rest of her life, but she has been home and healthy for a year now, and only needs to see the doctor twice a month.
Her sister, Samantha, is also healthy and very happy as she tied the knot at the end of 2019.
