Key West reaches out to moms at Cradle of Hope

Key West Shopping centre recently donated R15 000 worth of food and supplies to Cradle of Hope for Mother's Day.

One of the hardest jobs in the world is being a mother or a female caregiver. This job can be even more difficult when you fall on hard times.

Key West Shopping Centre knows this and wanted to make life a bit easier for a few moms on Mother’s Day. On Thursday, 6 May, they delivered some much-needed goodies to the Cradle of Hope. They donated R15 000 worth of food and supplies, which included baby formula, socks, sanitary products, gift cards, milk, rice, coffee, potatoes and more.

Melissa Holtzhausen from Key West Marketing said the Key West Shopping Centre management believes that every mother deserves to be celebrated for the selfless love, support and attention they give to their families, regardless of their circumstances.

So this past Mother’s Day, they wished to give back to mothers in the community, especially to those who might not receive the recognition they deserve.

“As a shopping centre we strive not only to provide a quality shopping experience for our community but also offer a helping hand in times of need.”

Ayanda Mauka from Key West Marketing said they hoped they could make a difference.

“We have mothers in centre management and we know how difficult things can be,” she said.

She said Key West just wanted to give a helping hand as everyone is going through a hard time and it is always important to have someone who can help.
