Sasol conducts gas pipeline emergency exercise in Chamdor

The primary purpose of the emergency exercise was to test the state of readiness of all relevant emergency responders when responding to a gas pipeline emergency.

Sasol on Tuesday, December 7 conducted a gas pipeline emergency exercise in Chamdor, Krugersdorp.

The primary purpose of the emergency exercise was to test the state of readiness of all relevant emergency responders when responding to a gas pipeline emergency.

Other aspects within the emergency preparedness process that were tested are response time; capabilities of responders to conduct the incident safely; the capacity to manage incidents which might affect multiple stakeholders; to test if affected publics are able to respond safely in an event of a gas pipeline incident; and identify gaps to be mitigated in the process of continual improvement.
