Win a whole lamb with Cradle of Hope and Vleispot

There's not much left to enter and stand a chance to win a lamb sponsored by Die Vleispot. All it will cost you is a R50 donation to the Cradle of Hope.

The Cradle of Hope needs your help with one of the many projects they are running this festive season.

The job of Ronél Snyman who has been with the Cradle of Hope for the past 14 years is to secure donations. She is also very much part of the upliftment programmes for abused women.

One of the projects they are running comprises that every person who donates R50 to the Cradle of Hope is allocated a number. On Friday, December 10 a lucky draw will be held and the winner will get a lamb sponsored by Die Vleispot in Lewisham.

Entrants can deposit the money into their bank account with the reference LAMB, and send proof of payment to Ronél at ronel@thecradleofhope.org or on 072 823 3525.

This is just one of many projects that the organisation is running. Ronél said it would help them to cover the costs of the Christmas food parcels they wish to hand out.

The devastating effects of Covid-19 can clearly be see in the community. We not only see it with our food parcel project but also with our community feeding scheme. We pack extra food parcels in this time and need R300 000 to cover these costs. It all goes to needy people,” she said.

They also have a Bless a Child project where they are aiming to give quality Christmas presents to 1 000 children this Christmas. Every present is worth about R400.

“The donations are used to ensure that every child gets a usable present. Every R100 really helps.”

If you wish to help with funding the children’s Christmas presents you can use the reference ‘Bless a Child’. If you wish to help with food parcels you can use the reference ‘Merry Christmas’.

They have the Give and Gain platform as well for individuals who want to start their own fundraiser to help the Cradle of Hope.

“It is always nice when families or colleagues start their own fundraiser and everyone can take part. At the end of the day you feel good that you have made a difference. This is a feel-good opportunity.”

She asked that those considering helping an organisation this festive season would help the Cradle of Hope. They are a legal organisation that does not only talk the talk, but also walks the walk.

We don’t judge and we really care. Those who follow our Facebook page will see what we do in the community. We also do regular live videos so you can see what we are busy with.”
