Rotary honours selfless residents with Paul Harris Fellow award

The Rotary Club of Krugersdorp recently held an awards ceremony for their members who showed exceptional involvement in the community.

The Rotary Club of Krugersdorp hosted its annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, January 18 to honour their members for the countless hours they’ve spent helping the Krugersdorp community.

Recipients were each awarded the Paul Harris Fellow award for services rendered.

Mareli de la Hunt received an award for her work as the current manager of the Krugersdorp Council for the Care of the Aged, director on the board of the Golden Age Village and Memorial Flats, for her involvement at House Jade Baby Haven, and her involvement in the community in general.

Dehlia van Staden received the Service Above Self award for her 37 years of service in the area. Dehlia is currently die director of the West Rand Chamber of Business and Tourism, the director of the Golden Age Village and Memorial Flats, and she serves on the Krugersdorp Council for the Care of the Aged board of directors.

Dennis and Minnie Pretorius were awarded with a special citation for Service Above Self for their involvement as directors on the Board of the Golden Age Village and Memorial flats, and their ongoing activities across the West Rand.
