LETTER: States of disasters – Our lives will always be affected

Whatever you are going through, it will pass – local pastor.

• Pastor Gerrit Mes of the AFM Pentecostal Fellowship writes:

On the 4th of May 2022 the President announced the end of the state of disaster would come into effect at midnight on the 4th of May.

On the 5th of May at 05:00 I sat at my window looking at a major road. One by one, cars started passing under the street lights. A new day, after about 750 days of regulations imposed on us. What did I learn from this? Time does not stand still.

Whatever you are going through, it will pass. The Bible speaks about seasons in time. The disease is still with us but we have hope of some normality returning.

An act imposed and deposed can change things around us but only God can change what is in our hearts.

Our lives will always be affected by states of disasters around us; economics, politics and distant wars affect all of us. But as you start a new day, remember time does not stand still. You will come through this season as you have come through other seasons. The sun will shine again. I pray that you will get through this season of pain and fear. God bless you today.
