Man arrested for burglary in Hekpoort
Business burglary often requires repairs to damaged property, temporarily closing the business for investigation and replacing stolen items.Thus it takes a serious toll on businesses.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested for business burglary in Hekpoort.
According to police, he used a pick head to gain entry and then went on to steal computers, chairs, and other equipment.
Hekpoort Police spokesperson Sergeant Gloria Maswanganye said the burglary happened between April 10 and 14.

“Business burglary often requires repairs to damaged property, temporarily closing the business for investigation, and replacing stolen items. Thus it takes a serious toll on business,” she said.
Adding that as soon as the docket was opened at the Hekpoort police, it was assigned to Detective Sergeant Simphiwe Gwala to investigate.

Gwala and his team followed up on information that led them to the arrest of the 32-year-old on Thursday, May 11.
Hekpoort’s Acting Station Commander, Warrant Officer Baldwin Munene commended the members for their commitment and encouraged business owners to take safety precautions to prevent them from being victims of burglary.
“Members of the public are also encouraged to continue to report any criminal activities witnessed to the Hekpoort police on 014 576 9100 or the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 alternatively make use of the MYSAPS app.”
