Foreign national nabbed for drugs: Bags of narcotics and cash seized
A Krugersdorp police operation leads to the arrest of a foreign national on drug possession and distribution charges.
The West Rand K9 Unit recently arrested a suspect in Krugersdorp for being in possession of drugs following an intelligence-driven operation.
According to West Rand K9 Unit spokesperson Warrant Officer Reinier Henning, several police units were involved in the operation.
He said police received intelligence in November about an individual operating in the Krugersdorp area who was actively storing and distributing crystal meth and mandrax.

A search warrant was applied for and authorised, and on December 12, the operational team was deployed.
“Surveillance confirmed the suspect was in possession of narcotics. Once verified, the operational team executed a search and seizure warrant,” Henning said.

During the search, one suspect was arrested, and the following items were seized:
• 22 ziplock bags containing crystal meth
• Mandrax tablets
• A substantial quantity of unused ziplock bags
• Four digital scales
• R2 880 in cash

“A man, a Nigerian national, was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. He was detained at Krugersdorp Police Station, and a criminal case has been opened,” Henning added.
