Crime clampdown yields results for West Rand Flying Squad

One was arrested for unlawful possession of precious metal, and a suspected stolen vehicle was recovered in two separate incidents.

The West Rand Flying Squad (WRFS) had two successes between March 11 and 13 across the West Rand.

The WRFS’s spokesperson, Karen du Plessis, said that they arrested a suspect on March 11 for unlawful possession of precious metal in Randfontein during a stop and search. They confiscated numerous items such as a 100ml bottle of mercury, 12 cellphones and R8 000 in cash.

She concluded that, during the early hours of March 11, their officers received information and recovered a suspected stolen vehicle that was abandoned in Tarlton.
