Suspects arrested following robbery interception in Muldersdrift

A protection services unit apprehended suspects linked to alleged robberies in Muldersdrift after an interception on Sunset Drive over the weekend.

Multiple suspects were arrested in Muldersdrift over the weekend in connection with alleged robberies in the area.

According to Guardmax Protection Services sales manager Gerrie van Rooyen, the company received reports of a robbery in progress on Sunset Drive at about 08:50 on May 17.

Tactical units were dispatched and, upon arrival, located and intercepted the suspects’ vehicle before apprehending the occupants.

“The suspects were allegedly involved in numerous robberies in and around the area. The suspects were interrogated, and one confirmed that some were positively linked to the armed robberies,” Van Rooyen said.

He added that the suspects and the vehicle allegedly used in the crimes were handed over to Muldersdrift police for further investigation.
