Mogale City residents urged to use water sparingly

Water plant repairs are currently affecting the water supply.

Mogale City Water Services wishes to inform residents that with the Rand Water Vereeniging Treatment Works recovering, water supply to Mogale City reservoirs has commenced.

According to Mogale City’s head of communications Adrian Amod, the system remains under significant strain, leading to disruptions in areas. As a result, the Kagiso Water Tower has been switched off due to insufficient water supply.

This has consequently affected the following areas experiencing water shortages:

• Kagiso Ext 8
• Zulu Jump
• Tskakane
• Reservoir Ridge

”At this stage, we are unable to provide an estimated full restoration. We are also aware of the water outage in Noordheuwel, specifically in the area between Paarderkraal Drive and Anysberg Street, extending from Voortrekker Road to Amajuba Street. A team is already on-site to investigate the cause of the disruption. We urge residents to remain patient, as the team is working under rainy conditions, which may affect repair times,” Amod said.

Residents and businesses are urged to use water sparingly until the situation stabilises. Water services will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with ward councillors to deploy water tankers to the most affected areas.
