Low reservoir levels place Kagiso water supply under strain

Residents are encouraged to report leaks and avoid excessive water storage as Mogale City works to manage increasing demand on the system.

The levels of the reservoir in Kagiso are currently low, affecting pumping capacity as water consumption continues to exceed supply.

Mogale City Water Services has urged Kagiso residents to limit water usage to essential household needs only and to avoid storing water by filling containers, as this could place additional strain on the system and potentially lead to supply interruptions.

According to Mogale City senior communications practitioner Tendani Shavani, residents are also encouraged to report any water leaks promptly, as leaks contribute to the depletion of reservoir levels.

While widespread water supply interruptions are not expected if water is used sparingly, residents who may require water tankers are advised to contact their ward councillors to assist with communication and coordination.
